Advice packing light PAJAMA CHOICE

[ Edited ]

MY MAJOR CONCERN IN PAJAMAS.... THEY SEEM TO TAKE UP SPACE SINCE THEY ARE HEAVY.  PERHAPS THERE IS A BETTER WAY.  I JUST DON'T WANT TO WEAR  MY CLOTHES TO BED OR WEAR LITTLE OR NOTHING .

I travel and I am starting to think that there might be a better way to pack that will make moving about easier.  I do check my luggage when I fly and when I travel by car I still have to lug the bags in and out of the hotel room

I will add most of my travel is for two, me and hubby and I pack for him also.  And we usually go dancing, square dancing to be exact which means our clothes are a bit out of the ordinary.

I take one wheeled garment bag, one 26 inch wheeled hard sided suitcase, one Vera Bradley duffle or my lug on wheels.

What about a nightgown made from a micro fiber.That can roll up into nothing and be rinsed out and dried quickly.I usually pack only micro fibers so that I can take many items with little weight and they take up less space.I went fifteen days with only a carry on and had lots to wear.

This would be a non-problem for me.  I wear a t-shirt and undies to bed.  A T-shirt doesn't take much room.  If it's cold I would roll up one pair of pajama pants to wear with my T-shirt.  For traveling, I personally would wear the same thing every night for a few nights.  Of course if you are a newlywed,  my post would not work.  LOL

Gosh when we travel I take two nightshirts and two thin pajama bottoms.. they roll up nicely in my big bag or fit perfectly in the bottom of my leather duffle overnighter.

@bonnielu I can't wear heavy pajamas anymore and the several pair that I own, I tend to wear as loungewear. I enjoy light fabrics that can be rolled up in a suitcase, I'm a pj collector so to speak and usually buy them while on sale. I adjust the temperature accordingly in my hotel room so I never have any issues.

My favorite places to purchase them are from TJ Maxx and Marshalls.

Don't take so many pairs of pajama's if they take up that much room.

Yes, a newly wed.  Just celebrated our 50th.  I really need to learn to pack light.  I tend to bring everything but the kitchen sink.  Pajamas have always been a problem.  I see now from all of your responses that I have other options.  I will look for something really light and or some shirts that might have dual purpose.

Check out the Cool Nights collection from Soma. They are light and take up no room.

You don't say how many days you're travelling for and how many pair of PJs you plan to take.   If you're going for a week or less, can't you take just one pair?

@Meowingkitty

i was just going to suggest that line. they have fast become my favorite pajamas. they feel so good on the skin, are quite pretty, come in a variety of styles (sleeveless, long sleeves, short sleeves.....long pants, crop pants, shorts), and are very easily packed.
