Long story short... hubby who takes family chiding because HE ALWAY DRIVES 5 MILES BELOW THE SPEED LIMIT was cited for speeding. Circumstances: passing a car that was erratic and veering into us. The speed limit changed quickly... officer was right on it hiding in the bushes... his favorite spot.
In one month at 7 pm we can go to the hearing. They want money.... $175 dollars. It is a known speed trap. We live over the border, it will not cost POINTS but it will be recorded and not purged for three years. I called insurance agent and said no problem with increased insurance.
Should we ask for certificate for speed gun... the last time it was checked?
Should we just pay. Should we appear and explain? Should I write the state of West Virginia and tell someone in charge about TRAP (AS IF THEY DID NOT KNOW) I think the officer has nothing else to do. I think they have 2. I so would like to have better warning signs about immediate speed change. I also would like to campaign for a better way to treat people passing through. I truly love the state, we go there often, very very often and now I have such negatives feelings.
