I've recently started enjoying this pastime. I even bought a little lap board so I can sit just about anywhere and color!
I'm afraid I'll branch out and need better pencils, maybe even some fancy pens (glitter!) but for now I content myself with a cute new sharpener. There were some here a few years back doing this; anybody out there with experiences to share?

It was totally relaxing. Love color, and I have not discarded my books or all the pencils I have. It's quiet and an easy hobby to put away in an instant. I'm keeping my hobbies, since our winters can be long.

I was doing it when they first started coming out a few years ago, but for whatever reason haven't done it in quite awhile. Might have to dig them out again.

I have almost every other "hobby" imaginable, but I am not a good colorer. I never was.
My mother in law loves it! I don't think she ever uses colored pencils, but I have bought her all of the marker!
I bought her the Copic markers, because they are supposed to be really good & you can blend them together, but she never got into that too much. And, you can refill them instead of buying a new marker. She thought that was too much bother, so she threw them away.
I replaced them with ****** Blick brand marker that are supposedly just as nice, but less expensive & not reafillable.
There are so many gorgeous pencils & pens to use!
And, if you have an Ollie's near you they have so many nice books!

I took up coloring several months ago after seeing my daughter doing it while we were vacationing in Florida. I bought the glitter gel pens and also pencils to use on larger areas. I prefer the books that have abstract prints. I've ordered a few books and have been disappointed in some. Right now I am into crocheting.

I've never doe this in my life. At least since I was 10. I might look in to this. Just never thought of it. I'll look in Amazon.

I just love to color. Always have. Many years ago I was chaperoning a field trip with one of my daughter's classes. We went into the gift shop and I noticed a detailed coloring book of wild flowers. I bought it and really enjoyed coloring in it.
When coloring for adults became more popular in the past few years, I bought some more books. I especially love the Johanna Basford books. I have even found a couple of nice ones at Dollar Tree.

I alternate between coloring & sticker books and 1000 pce jigsaw puzzles. This is so beneficial for exercising your brain; better than a glass of wine! However the combination with a glass of wine, coloring & puzzling is a lot of fun as well, lol!

I loved coloring as a child, and got back into it about five years ago. I have the Ultimate Crayola case of 152 different crayons. I like being able to blend colors and create different effects. It just takes me back in time.

I love my coloring books. It IS very relaxing. My favorites are the complicated mandala designs. I always put my book pages on the printer and make copies and I color on the copies. That way I can use water soluable crayons and it doesn't go through to the next page when I apply water w/ with my brush to blend. ***Neocolor II makes great water soluable pencils/crayons. Neolcolor 1 sets are permanent. Uh, if you get both, put a bit of washi tape on the end of the crayons in one set or the other. They all look the same.
