Yesterday McAfee's vulnerability program notified me that there was a critical update for Adobe Flash. I thought it odd that the update was classified as critical; now I know why.

I do not use McAfee as an anti virus program and a person can unclick that option to have McAfee as an installed program before you upload that patch from Adobe.

McAfee AntiVirus Plus came preinstalled on my laptop. Part of the program is a vulnerability scanner that checks for updates to the programs on my system. Yesterday's scan found the critical Adobe update.

Thanks for the info. I stopped downloading Adobe updates because I got malware on my Windows laptop and iMac desktop a couple of months ago.
It's been trying to notify me of an update, but I've been closing it out. I'll go directly to their website to download this fix.

I'm glad I ignored the update alerts. Several posters here suggested going directly to the Adobe official site to update. Thanks, posters!
