Recently when trying to read articles on Google, I am getting so many ads that let one sentence of my article appear at a time. This is new for my iPad.
Reading the reviews for Adblocker +......any tho

I can't attest to Adblocker+ or how effective any ad blocking app is for iPad but IMO even the worst ad blocker is better than no ad blocker.

There is an ad tracker under Privacy that can be turned and cleared at will. Is that on? If so, then I got nothing.

I've been running the free version of AdBlock+ for several years and I would'nt be without without it!
I get ZERO pop-ups or ads on ANY website I visit!
SInce it's free, it costs you nothing to download it and see the results for yourself!
I'm willing to bet that you love it as much as I and many, many other users do!

You did not state which browser you are using. You state that you have an ipad. Are you using Safari? If so, go to Safari upper left corner, then click on Preferences. Then go to the Websites icon. On the left side, look for Pop-up windows. Then look for Google and then choose Block or Block and Notify. Hope that helps!

I have the free version on my laptop. I never thought to try to put it on my tablet.

Went to settings/ Safari and no " Preferences " to click on. There was a line " Block PopUps " and it was already on.
Don't know where else to go.
When I read the one review, it mentioned that the person had a complicated prep before they could use the app. It stopped me from proceeding.

Open Safari.
Then, with Safari open, in the upper left corner, click on "Safari."
Drop down menu - choose "Preferences."
Then choose Websites icon.
Then on left side choose Pop up Windows.
Good luck!

I, too, have liked AdBLock Plus for many years. I don't have any complaints at all.
My only issue, that is not anything bad about them, is that when you go to many sites they put up a huge window admonishing you for using an adblocker and telling you that you must allow ads if you want to be there.
Consequently, I just leave the site. I don't need to be on ANY site bad enough to get a bunch of ads and spyware, etc.
