so -- have you all heard what a jerk this guy is?
‎07-02-2014 08:01 AM
Wasn't even sure who he was so I Googled and found this on Yahoo Entertainment.
His rant has not made much difference in my day.
After a Twitter and Instagram exchange that resulted in his latest show “Man Finds Food” being put on hold, Adam Richman has apologized for saying some unsavory things to his critics on social media.
In a statement to ABC News, Richman said he is sorry for his "inexcusable remarks."
"I've long struggled with my body image and have worked very hard to achieve a healthy weight," Richman said.
Richman's rough comments started after he put his 70-pound weight loss on display for the latest issue of Cosmopolitan UK, then Instagrammed a picture of his new body with the hashtag "thinspiration."
This hashtag didn't go over so well with readers. The word can often be associated with anorexia and commentors took to social media to let the "Man V. Food" star know it.
He fired back with his own remarks -- including one regrettable comment: "Grab a razor blade and draw a bath. I doubt anyone will miss you."
He also commented on another user's Instagram post with the term "DILLIGAF," meaning "Does it look like I give a f***" after she had made a comment.
For that comment and others that might have offended anyone, Richman added in his statement, "I'm incredibly sorry to everyone I've hurt."
The Travel Channel did not respond to a request for comment.
"Man Finds Food," which was supposed to air on Wednesday, has been postponed.

I've never heard of the word ""thinspiration.""

I'm sure that many people do not know of this word's connection to some who ""encourage"" anorexia. I didn't until reading about this incident. Obviously Mr. Richman didn't. He probably went through a great deal to get into shape and felt he was being attacked. His responses were over the top and most inappropriate but an apology should suffice. It has worked for many in the public eye who have done far worse.

It's great that he lost 70 lbs, and I can rarely watch that show because I was always disgusted at how he would go around visiting restaurants and do these contests where he consumed obscene amounts of food within a specific amount of time. It was gross to watch and certainly couldn't be healthy for him. However, his comments were wayyyyy out of line. He is in the celebrity spotlight, he should know better how to handle criticism.

We watched him some in the past. His over the top comments will make it very difficult to watch him any time in the future.
An apology is wonderful -- but a part of him has been exposed now and it is not fun or pretty.
Using the word was an honest mistake. His reaction was not a mistake -- it shows just who you are seeing.

His show Man V Food was disgusting. If he had continued eating the way he was he probably would have had a heart attack in the middle of taping a show.

I'm shocked. I'm stunned.
I always thought it was spelled DILLIGAFF. The first 'F' is for 'flying'.

I agree with minkbunny ~ his rant made no difference in my day. I wonder how many people here have not lost it over something and stated things they might regret?

well, it really makes no difference to me either.
I did recall a thread here not long ago where people were commenting on his weight loss and what a hottie he has become.
How hot is it to tell someone to get some razor blades and draw a bath?
