is on her way to prison. You may remember her as a cast member from the show "Smallville." I loved that show.
NEW YORK (AP) — TV actor Allison Mack, who played a key role in the scandal-ridden, cult-like group NXIVM, was sentenced to three years in prison Wednesday on charges she manipulated women into becoming sex slaves for the group’s spiritual leader.
Mack — best known for her role as a young Superman’s close friend on the series “Smallville” — had previously pleaded guilty to the charges and was expected to seek credit for cooperating against NXIVM leader Keith Raniere and taking responsibility for helping him create a secret society of brainwashed women who were branded with his initials.
At her sentencing in Brooklyn federal court, Mack renounced Raniere.

I watched the HBO documentary. Allison Mack was Raniere's third in charge. She groomed and procured young women who acted as sex slaves for Raniere. They were often put on strict diets because that is how he liked his women. Mack deserves the time she got IMHO.

I will never understand how and why people get roped into the most bizarre cults, faux religions, and idol worship. Whoever helped that creep Raniere deserves to pay for their horrific behavior. Still, it's hard to fathom what kind of mental gymnastics people play in order to justify their following a devil.

Wonder if they will ever get to the case of Ghislaine Maxwell ?

Whatever happened to Raniere? I'm just starting to follow this case, so I don't know a lot of the history. This is certainly bizarre and I wonder how people can get involved in something like this. It is certainly true that if you don't stand for something, you will fall for anything.

She needs to stay in prison for longer than 3 years and I'm sure she'll do much less. Her actions were similar to Ghlaine Maxwell except that Maxwell is pleading not guilty. Maybe she should change her plea and then get out in 3 or less years too.

Yup, especially well-off people like the Bronfman sisters. Allison had a good career, and threw it all away for this?
The STARZ documentary was excellent, too. India Oxenberg and her mother did a good job giving all the disturbing details.

What's ridiculous is this went on much longer than it needed to. Reporting on these people was done my local paper and the US attorney just here didn't do anything, most likely due to outside influences. Not a good look.

Yes, she's sorry now.......![]()
