Re: Actor Alan Arkin Suffers Mini Stroke

My introduction to Alan Arkin was his role as the Russian ship Captain in The Russians Are Coming, The Russians Are Coming. He was a young handsome man who had an air of humor about him through all the seriousness. That film is a classic. If you haven't seen it, rent it.  As many of you have mentioned, I  too loved him in an older role as Grandpa in Little Miss Sunshine, also a classic film. He looks frail, but I think he'll be okay after this set back. He's got a fighting spirit.

Yes @scatcat, very touching indeed!  I believe Arkin won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for that film.  And the little girl (Abigail Breslin) was nominated.  You should definitely see the flim if you ever get the chance.  Seriously uplifting (and funny!).  Slightly Smiling Face

I did see the movie. I love movies where the families are 3 inches outside the norm. Like The Royal Tennenbaums or The Slums of Beverly Hills. But that scene you posted was really good.
