I did a thread last week about our mild NE PA winter.  Ha, this morning a lovely 5  #&^%@$ degrees plus a strong wind. IT takes your breath away when you first go out. There is the NE PA winter weather that sux.

Still not what I'd call a "real" snow even though the ground has been white since Friday.  A paltry 3-3.5 inches is nothing, but man is it freakin freezing.

My furnace is running like it's in a marathon. I just picture $ disappearing every time it turns on.  Yikes.  I guess it is to warm up to 30s later in the week.

On the upside it is sunny and we are gaining a minute or 2 of daylight every day and it is not dark at 5pm. Less of the double whammy, freezing and dark.

I should have kept my mouth shut.  lol

I'm in NE PA with you.   I hate winter.  I would like to go from December right to April.

NW PA here....southeast of Lake Erie... which is dropping on my driveway as I type...

Wind is brutal...making snow dustdevils.....and it's from bright sunshine on minute to white out the next....4-6" predicted here...

BUT...30's by Wednesday....a mere 48 hours away....so let's get thru it and done...

Every day it's above 30 I like it....a LOT easier to do everything outside, easier on the heating equipment, and one day closer to spring...

Not to rush life away, but it's only 49 days til March 1...I know it's not really "spring" but I like saying "march" much more than "November"  ( when the whole winter strectches out in front of us....)

We've had abotu 6 inches TOTAL in 3 storms where I live this fall.No snowblower yet. I shovel it for exercise ( to a point!)

20 degs right now ( Noonish) but single digits tonight....When that blows over UN frozen Lake Erie.....watch out!!!

I will keep my heat up and buy one less gew gah from QVC. to pay for it.

As long as I'm above ground, I'm gonna be WARM!!

PS: Anyone dig out thier "Comfy" today? I did!!!

Things I did to keep warm when I got chilly today....I vaccuumed my house.....and I worked out on my Total Gym for 20 minutes. Squats warm you up good!!!

Our little group of feral cats are in the insulated houses we made. Out of the bitter cold with dry straw for everyone to snooze on.

I worry about the people and animals that might not have a warm place to go.

My son is apt to be in a cherry picker today repairing lines. I worry, not only about the freezing cold, but people driving past his truck parked along the road while he is up there, especially when there might be slippery conditions.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 I was just going to post about worrying about the poor outside animals and people without warm places to be.   Thank you for providing shelter.

Like you son is in a cherry picker repairing electric lines today and our temp is 23.   Was called out 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning also.

In NYC today it is in the 30's, but with wind chill feels like the 20's.  Tomorrow the high will only be 15!
