Do you think "I have a right to my opinion" becomes a personal attack?
I'm referring mainly to posters whose comments on some host's/vendors, go far beyond commenting on their on air performance, to downright cruel comments; their dumbo ears, clown make up, fat a--, and wild speculations about their personal lives, how they may on drugs, drunk, playing for the other team, and worse.
While comments like those may be the norm on a tacky site like TWOP, I don't expect a retailer to allow posts where their staff and vendors are cruelly belittled, and I really lose respect for QVC, when I see threads like those allowed to go on and on. To make thinks worse, they often become a forum for posters attacking each other.
I'm a dietician and our hospital sponsors a forum for clients to comment on our services; food, menu, cleanliness, time of service, etc. We make it very clear, though, that while we want to hear about it, if there is a problem with an employee, there is another venue to address that. We will not tolerate personal comments about staff, on the comment forum.
I realize that home shopping is a different world, but, I can so not understand the downright vicousness some posters seem to have for certain hosts/vendors.
