Like John I had a healthy fear of my ex when he was alive.

We kept our distance because as his alcoholism progressed he became violent and unpredictable. I didn't hate him but we did take precautions to avoid him.

It's like PTSD. Even after his death the fear was still real for a very long time.

The only one I would be afraid of would be myself. And the person I am talking about is my "absentee dad" that left when I was about 4 years old. Left my mom to raise 4 of us kids all by herself and used to beat her and 2 of my 3 older sisters up every time he came home drunk just for fun I guess.

Since he is now dead the only fear I would have were he still alive and I saw him? That would be what I might do to him for what he did to my family.

Don't you think it is time to let go of that hatred for a dead man? You are poisoning nobody but yourself with it.

Thank you doctor, but I don't recall using the word "hatred" in my post. The only time I think of this drunken bas---- is when I see a question such as this.

Appreciate your concern for me but I am doing just fine thank you.

Good answer John!!

Nope...

I am more of a loner in everyday life so I don't ever have people over...THIS is my (animal) sanctuary..

I have been here 10 yrs with less visitors than I can count on one hand...

Fighting for them.( formerly EMTHeart)

I'm afraid for my sister and her deranged ex-husband, but I'm not afraid of anyone. I don't answer the door at night.

No, can't say I'm afraid of anyone in my family.

That's surprising. I picture you as an extrovert. I could easily become a hermit.

We don't answer the front door. Too many solicitors. Some very aggressive, such as the recent security protection solicitors. Neighbors had to 'throw them out', so to speak.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

I know, right? The man loves his DM and sisters and I'm sure it was hard for a young boy to see and know what was going on with an abusive, sick, deadbeat and MM thinks he needs to 'let go'.

That's the problem with some in society, they defend the losers. They have 'rights' too. {#emotions_dlg.closedeyes}
