It's not just physical DNA that is passed down. Emotions, feelings, etc are also imprinted and affect generations.

I am the child of an immigrant father who only went to the 8th grade but managed to put his two children through college. I have a cousin whose grandfather was my father's brother. This cousin also went to college --- and donated, while living, a million dollars to a college. All of my immigrant aunts and uncles, along with all of their progeny, became productive citizens who  contributed to this country in various  ways.Yes, immigrants ARE what makes this country great. We are a nation of immigrants with many cultures contributing to and enriching our country.

@Q-Checker I am impressed by your heritagel. Immigrants are a huge asset for this country, which is built on immigrants from many countries.  

I applaud and embrace anyone who wants come here through our system, follow the laws and if they choose become a citizen.  

I have helped people pass the citizenship test and was delighted to help them learn--and learn some thing myself!   I live in a town with many folks from other countries, and that includes a lot of my neighbors from around the globe.
