I have noticed that it's used a lot.... but thought it was a turn around to what they had said a few moments before rather than a reference to a product just like it that might have been presented.
Blah Blah, a really large purse.... Blah Blah Blah more decription, and again... it's a large enough purse to put every thing in....

By the way my best friend uses "...and stuff" as her filler words. Always has and probably always will. I'd never say anything though because it's distinctly her and I love her, besides, she puts up with me and that's saying a lot.... ![]()

I've noticed the police whether it be local on the news or TV programs, especially reality shows like the police and game warden shows, they constantly use the "real quick" phrase, like, "I'm going to do or check something real quick". It seems to be constant law enforcement jargon. Can't quite figure the point of something being done real quick. You've got to do what they say whether it's done real quick or not.

I don't hear "AGAIN" used in any way other than how it is intended.
@SahmIam Lori Goldstein prefaces almost every sentence of hers when she is describing the features of an item (her selling points) with "and again..." even if she has not mentioned that point before. "And again" should be used to re-emphasize something already stated, but her point hasn't yet been stated. Example: And again, this is cut on the bias to be more slimming." Well, she hadn't mentioned that so why the "and again"? She prefaces almost every single sentence with "And again." It's very annoying IMO.
Where are the QVC people who are supposed to coaching these vendors on how to make a presentation? Surely they hear this too if they watch any shows/videos of the presentations!
Ah, thank you Pearly. That does explain why I didn't know...I don't watch her. I can definitely understand how that would be annoying. In the same way I find "like" and "you know" to be irritating as heck when the person says it every other word or so when speaking.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Beacuse the word "again" has a specific meaning in the English language, I find it jarring when someone shows me something brand new, never seen before and starts their intro with "again." It makes me wonder what I missed since it indicates a repetition or "old news."
To me, it's as confusing as it would be to introduce myself to a stranger by saying, "Again, my name is Mary." The other person would wonder where we had met before. LOL!

Thanks so much! I was starting to feel that this is another "just me" experience. It seems most people have never noticed this but, like the dripping faucet, it's all I hear and is very distracting to what's being presented. :-)

Thanks for your response! I'm glad to know I'm not the only person on the planet that doesn't "get" her clothes. Dressing in mis-matched layers in different colors, patterns and hem lengths and angles has laways puzzled me. Why would one want to look like they couldn't decide what to wear so decided to put everything on when playing dress-up with someone else's clothes? Adding a ruffle to the bottom only adds to the playing dress-up with a tutu look on an adult.

Thanks for your contribution! So nice to know there are others who agree this kind of talk during a new presentation is jarring and confusing! I wonder, "Did I miss something? I thought she said this was a brand new design!"
As I mentioned to another contributor, it is like meeting someone for the very fist time and saying to that person, "Again. It's nice to meet you." Huh? Have we met before? LOL!

Thanks for your response. It was disheartening for my first post to be met with a put-down. I was hoping to get a sense of "community" where I could express my observations in a safe place. Thanks for your support and I am finding that I am not alone in my observations after all and I appreciate it.
It is true that we are all different and interested in and bothered by different things.

I say if the OP is bothered so much by a word, perhaps she's watching too much QVC. Such a silly thing to post about! Read a book or take a walk! Sheesh!
