We have a new company preforming Shakespeare at a local venue which is not handicapped acceptable. I use a walker to get around and they literately told me they can not help me.
Meanwhile The Hudson Valley Shakespeare Festival was so lovely when I spoke to them on the phone they have golf carts to allow people to get to the site of the performance they also said they will help me out with extra cushions if needed and take my will take walker and return it during intermission and at the end of the performance.
I am more than a bit angry and not sure if I should peruse this or let it drop? Thank you all rant over

I'm sorry that happened to you.
I think your issue is with the local venue which may be why the performance crew can't help you. The venue is responsibile for being ADA compliant if I understand your post correctly.
They are who you need to contact. It may simply be that the first performance company is misinformed or uninformed as to what ADA facilities that venue has available.
That's wonderful that the other place knows what to do and has thought ahead. Enjoy!

@I am still oxox I volunteer at one of our community theaters, its in a renovated church building about 100 years old & up to 5 years or so ago we did a big campaign to raise $ for an elevator as up to then a % of our patrons couldnt make it upstairs to see the shows. I think its really important to let the venue know of your concerns.

I agree that the venue owner has the responsibility to be ADA compliant so perhaps you @I am still oxox should research the venue and contact them with your concerns.

The ADA stipulates that a theatre event in a park must comply with accessibility requirements.
