Our cats saved my life a couple of years ago, if they had not needed me I'm not sure that I would still be here . . . they gave me a reason to get up each day.

@We rescue cats - So true!

I have a friend whose mom is 98 and in assisted living. Until this past year she lived alone.

Now she has developed Alzheimer's, and she does not interact much. She doesn't talk much to the staff. The staff brought two rescue kitties in for the residents. One of them jumped into her lap, and now the kitty stays in her room with her!

She FaceTimed her daughter and wanted her to meet "her little sister." The staff told my friend they have never seen her more animated. She is interacting with them and with the other residents. Kitty goes everywhere with her, but when she is in her room, so is Kitty!

My friend is not a cat person, but she is happy her mom is so happy.  Smiley Happy
