I'm a little concerned about my upcoming visit to see my MIL. She's almost 99, and amazing. We enjoy a very close relationship. I'm seeing her for four days in July. I've told her she doesn't have to "entertain" me. In fact, I'd like to make things easier for her without it being obvious. I sense she's feeling a little depressed about using a walker, not being as independent, etc.

The first thing I thought I'd do is stop by her local Whole Foods on the way from the airport and purchase some things for lunches and breakfasts like fruit, pasta salads, makings for salads, and maybe something slightly decadent to share for a dessert. We will take it easy the first day. She lives in an assisted living complex, so we'll dine downstairs in their dining room. One of the days I'm there, I plan on taking her to an early afternoon movie, and dinner. I rent a car, so I thought a nice drive. I'm going to offer to do a shopping trip for things she might need.

She's really quite healthy, but has some mobility issues. Also, she's as sharp as a tack.

Do you have any ideas of pleasant things we can do together? I love her so much.

Thanks for any advice!
