Raven, I did just scan the article, and it seems to apply to east coasters, and I know the ticks are different there. Our California ticks wouldn't do this to us!

I don't think we have Lone Star ticks here and that's the reason.........although deer ticks can carry Lyme Disease and if given the choice I think I'd rather have the Lone Star bite me LOL.......I already don't eat meat............raven

I'd rather have NO ticks bite me, but if you spend a lot of time outdoors, it can happen.

Just get to a Dr. right away (the 24 hour clinics will do) and start on the antibiotics asap. I think after you get bit by a lyme infested tick, you have at least 24 hours, if not 48, to get started on the treatment.

My becoming a vegetarian back in the mid 1970's had nothing to do with being bitten by a tick. The many times in the US Army I spent in tents and in the woods? Had ticks all over use when we got back to our barracks. We us to help each other remove ticks from the our backs and other places we could not see. What, is there a new breed of ticks now?

Guess I am missing something in this thread.

Yes, ticks in Colorado and adjacent areas can cause Rocky Mountain Fever.
