Have received it twice.  Tells me that my Microsoft Service Contract has been renewed and that if I don't want it I have to call a phone number to get a refund.

We don't have Microsoft Service Contracts (whatever they are).  We have an iMac, iPhones and an iPad.  Our land line answering machine picks up the call and i just delete it.

Be careful.

I have been getting Microsoft scam calls too. I don't answer but they leave message. My local police department told me that there is nothing that they can do because there are so many of them. Let's just hope that people are no longer falling for this nonsense. It's so widespread so hopefully people have become more aware of it.

It's a total shame that these people try to take advantage of others. They take the hard earned money of seniors who fall for the scam and they go right on with their lives often leaving seniors with no income to live out the remainder of their lives. With that said, when ever I get a scam call I don't answer it but when my boyfriend is at my home he answers "Joes Porn shop, want to buy some porn?"  They can't believe what they just heard and hang up. We sit there laughing. It's our way of dealing with these a-holes.

I've had calls about my Microsoft license expiring withing 24 hours if I don't speak with a "tech person".  I just hang up as soon as the recording starts.  My caller ID died (needs new batteries) so I can't see who is calling before I pick up the phone.

I highly recommend purchasing a Call Blocker.

Mine was purchased from QVC, E230547 and it is great.  I have approximately 350 numbers blocked, therefore ending tons of annoying calls.

It is so peaceful without the phone ringing all day.

Blockers ?     Every scam caller uses a different number and location. Today it was Bakersfield CA - and Chicago - Wash State - Beaverton OR - ILL - New City ? - Philly Pa.  These I just now took off my caller ID - holds about 20 incoming.

You can spend your life trying to pick up every ant on an ant-hill.  Get my point?

I have a Panasonic system and the minute the caller ID shows only a city name and state, I hit call block.  Then, if I'm curious enough, I'll google the number to see what it might be about. That Microsoft scam has been around a long time.  Must be beneficial for the perps to keep it going.

I get all kinds of scam calls on my land line. They go to voicemail, which I check every few weeks or so. By that time the attempt at threats or scare tactics has long passed. It’s funny to hear them.

I block the numbers for the few scam calls on my cell.

My call  blocker automatically blocks out all toll free numbers, anonymous calls, out of area calls, as well as you can block entire area codes and individual phone #'s.

I usually only have to hit the block button on political and charity calls.
