Today at breakfast ,our waitress told us of a happy event, that befell her. She sends her child to a parochial school, and does get help from her parish with her child's tuition, however, she still has to pay a sizable chunk ,herself
In the beginning of each year, if you want your child to participate in sports events you pay extra. She was stressing about coming up with this extra money. She prayed because, she really didn't have that much extra money this month and didn't know what to do.
A couple of days later ,the school called her, to let her know an anonymous person put $500 into her child's account, but wishes to remain anonymous. It absolutely made her day, perhaps her entire school year
Good things do happen to people, sometimes, when they need it the most
Do you have a happy event to share?

I went to visit my Mom's grave at the cemetery yesterday, first time since the headstone was installed. Extremely sad
and difficult for me. I took a nice long walk there.
On the way home I stopped to play my Mom's lottery numbers, have been doing it since she died. She used to win 2, 10 dollars. One of the previous tickets I had played ended up being a winner of $102 after I scanned it and gave it to the cashier.
I wanted to think of it as a message of something positive from my Mom. I got very emotional and told the cashier about her.

This waitress has no idea where the money came from, and she has never begged a cent from anyone in my hearing. It well could have been a person at the school that gave the money, she has no idea. I didn't even know she was struggling, until she mentioned that something nice had happened to her
Making nasty cracks about people you don't even know is beyond the pale
I have known this young lady for years. In all of that time as she struggled to nurse her dying mother through cancer, and raise her child, while fighting breast cancer, herself, she has never been anything but dignified and a person worthy of admiration
I would certainly hate to go through life picking everyone apart, especially people I don't know
People like my friend have made my life much richer because of their strength and their dignity facing adversity, under fire
What do you get out of being so nasty?
She is greatly loved by customers and owners

A very cynical view of how life works. The woman was delighted with a windfall from a generous unknown person. In recounting her turn of good fortune she could hardly be begging as her prayers had already been answered.
Your remark reflects a very dark side of you and a negative judgmental aspect that will not serve you well. You begrudge a stranger her good fortune and cast doubt on her affirmation of optimism and gratitude. If you find you have only superficial relationships, start by setting boundaries on what you say and write, and then work on learning to think about people with generosity and lack of suspicion. There is plenty of good in the world and anonymous donors are just one proof.
