Have you ever known anybody who made themselves into a completely “new” person?

Fascinating to me, but at first kind of weird, a girl did this one summer of our college days.

Went away for the summer... came back totally unrecognizable.😮

I’m thinking about this....I asked her what happened?

She replied that she thought it over and this is how she turned out. Who does this?

*I* did it myself many years ago.    It was pretty drastic, and even my mother didn't recognize me.

Did they take on only a new physical appearance, or did they also experience a personality do-over?  Did it include surgical procedures?

Not quite sure if this fits your answer but I am surprised how one friend turned out.  We both grew up in the country, not at all rich or fancy. This is judgemental, but she was homely and B student at best.  She is now a corporate lawyer in a large east coast city and a big patron of the arts (opera and symphony). I guess once out of high school, some people just flourish.

Funny you should mention this.

I was talking to my friend, who lost over 200lb, about this recently.

We know many, many people personally & online who have

changed their diets & changed their mindset when they

became healthy, healed themselves & lost weight.

Depression, bad attitude & just cranky mindset...gone.

They look different; their attitude is positive...

they’re a completely different person.

Their whole persona has changed for the better

when their life is full of gratitude.

How can you not want some of that?

I knew a woman who did this years ago. Went to Florida and came back about a year later. She didn't change her appearance as much as her personality. I always wondered about what happened.

I wish some people I know would make themselves over especially personality wise!

I can see how someone can change their physical appearance but change their personality?? How does one go about doing this? Is this even possible?

I was not at my best in high schoold or even for a few years after!  I was shy, quiet and not real secure!  It was not until after I was married and had 3 children that I became a much more friendly and more secure!

I think maturity helped me.   Some people told me that I seemed so much different!   I feel I just had to grow up!Woman Wink

I think this can happen to people, especially if there is a big change in their life.

A big weight loss, a divorce, a big move away from family and friends. a marriage, or simply the waking up one day, and not liking the person they see in the mirror.

Some people dream or have many years of intentions of changing in some way, and something one day is the motivator to get it going. It can be something someone said to them (positive or negative), it can be things they see going by in their lives that they want, it can come out of necessity as they find they have no other choices in some particular area of their life.

Sometimes those changes are for the better, and sometimes not.
