I think that I have never started a topic in "Community Chat." I may have done, but if so, I can't recall it.

So here is an innocuous post that should be free of controversy.

All day I have felt that it is Friday. I have felt the wrong day in the past, but today, I am repeatedly forgetting it is Tuesday, much more so than in the past. I have proceeded through the day doing things that I usually do on Fridays and forgetting to do things that must be done on Tuesdays (meeting a friend for lunch; putting out the recyclables, for instance).

I guess it is because work is over for the week and the kids are out of school until Monday, but that has happened in the past without this happening. Strange.

@Highlands72, funny you should say that!  I keep thinking this is Thanksgiving day itself!   Mainly because our son has to work all Thanksgiving--  he has a part-time job as a waiter at a busy restaurant.

Wednesday and Friday one or the other of us have appointments and other stuff, so we belatedly realized we'd have to have Thanksgiving dinner today.  Can't believe I pulled it together in one day, although I had to "cheat" on a couple of pre-cooked things!

So now we're all sated and lying around the living room watching "Where Eagles Dare" which I DVR'd recently.

For us, it's Thanksgiving night!  Have a great holiday.

HI, @Highlands72 - we've had early snowfall at my house, and I just recently returned from travel to see relatives - I find that my sense of "normalcy" is completely awry.  Not to mention that DH has a four day weekend coming up.

Happy Thanksgiving!🙌🏼

@Highlands72...I appreciate your honesty. Most of the time when I post a comment on CC or AF, I offend someone, then end up apologizing. It gets old. I'm afraid to post on these boards anymore. Smiley Sad

I promise to remind myself every day that I am strong, courageous, and resilient.

Thanks to you guys for your replies. I am somewhat relieved to know that I am not alone in my confusion.

It has been so frustrating today for me to be constantly reminding myself it is not Friday. I put a big sign on the refrigerator--"Today is Tuesday." I hope I am not in the same mental state tomorrow or I may have to do another sign for Wednesday and wear it around my neck.

Happy Thanksgiving to all.

@Highlands72 A happy Thanksgiving to you too!

Since retiring, the first thing I do when I wake up every morning, before I get out out bed, is to try to remember what day it is.  Some days it's quick, some, not so much!

@Highlands72, there are never "dumb" questions or unimportant posts. We learn by asking and sharing! Since I've retired every night is Friday and everday is Saturday - lol! I don't even try to remember what day of the week it is anymore. No worries!

@Highlands72 @Caligurll  I love this post.  Ok, I'll admit it.  Some mornings when I wake up, my first spoken thought is:  "Alexa, what day is it?"

@Highlands72-

Haha-these are all funny but nice to read and know we are not alone!

I love the one @Its Me LuLuBelle2 wrote that  every night is Friday and every day is Saturday!-Good one.

What's worse is sometimes when I travel to see the rest of my family I really have to stop to think what state I'm in or just came from!

Or so I"ll remember how old I am I try to think of how old I will be months before it happens so by the time my birthday actually comes, I think I've already been that for months if you get what I mean lol!

I always say if you remember your own name you're doing ok (and there might be days you have to think about that!)

@catwhisperer-

I just wanted to say hi and do you know I was thinking about you because I understand and was remembering how you said you don't post that much anymore. I had a similar experience awhile back and just wanted to say I thought of you and can commiserate. Was also hoping you wouldn't stay away too longSmiley Happy

I hope you have a happy Thanksgiving

and all of us do tooSmiley Happy!
