Happy started barking this afternoon and ran to the family room window.  I looked out and my neighbor was shoveling my driveway.  I went out to thank him and to tell him that he did not need to do it, but he told me that he wanted to help me out.

He is 25 and hardly ever speaks to anyone, but I have known him for almost 20 years.  I never shovel my driveway because I let the sun melt the snow and ice before I drive out of the garage.

Anyway, it was such a nice and unexpected gesture.  For a thank you, since he lives with his parents, I am planning to bake some challah when I can actually get to the store.  My driveway might be clear, but there is no snow plow in sight and our little community's road is terrible.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

It warms my heart ❤️ to hear stories like yours. And he will appreciate the dessert you prepare. What kid doesn’t like to eat?

How nice of him.  What a relief to have that big job done.

I’m sure he’ll appreciate the challah

what a wonderful kindness you are showing towards your neighbor.

when you are able to get out safely make him your dish you mentioned it will be appreciated when it is completed and given to the family
