Re: A TIP FOR MY FELLOW TEXANS

For those who blame this whole thing on Texas not wanting to be green that is straight BS! What saved us and most people was gasoline for generators and natural gas for fireplaces and cooking and boiling water. Frozen windmills did not save anyone.

I saw the guy who got the $17K bill on the news it was for his home, a business and some other place he owns. He chose to get on a plan with a company that has discounted rates and it was a bad decision. The average person will not be dealing with that kind of bill. He said the company is going to try and work this out with him. As I suspected this is a one off and not something the average person should concern themselves with. The media loves to post the most outrageous scenario.

Re: A TIP FOR MY FELLOW TEXANS

I believe the $17,000 bill was for 3 meters-his home, a guest house, and an office.

Still an outrageous sum.

Also many of these bills are estimates based on projections, not reality.

I'm not sure if his falls into this category but it is going to take time to sort out this mess.

Re: A TIP FOR MY FELLOW TEXANS

This is the latest from SA's Mayor---

"It would be unconscionable for bills to go up and bills to be put on the backs of residents of the state that have been suffering and freezing in their homes for the last week through no fault of their own. This was a total failure by the state's energy management and they need to be held accountable and in doing so, certainly not put the cost of this crisis on the backs of Texans. You know, as far as I'm concerned that bill should be sent to ERCOT and there will be hell to pay if there is any notion that the residents of this state should pay for this disaster."

Meanwhile, CPS Energy plans will hold a Board of Trustee meeting at 1 p.m. on Monday. The board is expected to talk about the winter storm and its impact on electricity bills.

Let's see if CPS Energy and the State listen to him..... I dont like the way CPS Energy keeps saying "while many are concerned they could get hit with a huge bill, CEO Paula Gold-Williams says customers shouldn't worry...  YET" Woman Frustrated
