A Sheldrick photo

[ Edited ]

The tiny one in the picture is Lapa. Already, the  Keepers have witnessed him getting a 'telling off' by his nannies who have their work cut out caring for him. He was born to Lenana, an orphan that was rescued, raised and returned to the wild.  Standing by Lapa is his mum.

My goodness, what a completely perfect little cutie pie.

How majestic are these animals?  And they're very smart.

Who is Lapa's mum? Is she in the wild or in this picture? Doesn't really matter since he is cute as a button no matter what. Just thought I'd ask.

@Porcelain   She's right by him.  She was originally an orphan raised by the Sheldrick Trust.  Orphan that were raised and went back to the wild, always bring back their babies to "show off"

@songbird  "an orphan we rescued, raised and returned to the wild."

Which country do you live in that has wild elephants?

@songbird  Lapa is adorable!  Elephants are wonderful at how they all pitch in to care for the offspring.  Thanks for the baby picture.

@Mz iMac  Sorry that was typo.  I certainly don't live in Kenya currently.
