Re: A Set back is a Set up for Success

I think you have a great attitude.  I understand how frustraiting it is when there is a medical set back. I've had it happen myself, and in my case it did end up being a plus in the end. I hope you have a quick full recovery.

Re: A Set back is a Set up for Success

thanks for all of the well wishes on my recovery and to those who have had their share of going thru surgeries and recovery issues, keep moving forward.  Life is what you make of it,  I can't get depressed and stay down in the dumps, this too will pass. My prayers to those on the mend, you will recover and be better than before.

Oh you poor thing!  What you've been thru sounds TERRIBLE -- an what you're still going thru.

I just had my sixth surgery on my left hip that was supposed to end in a hip replacement starting with the second surgery.  Everytime they went in they found infection so I couldn't get the replacement.  I'm barely making it without a hip joint and using a walker (barely can take a few steps even with that).  I'm now having another type of surgery to fix my abdominal/intestinal areas and then will get the new hip.

There is hope eventhough it sometimes can be a journey.  I still haven't lost hope.  You can't.  You have to accept where you are and what you have to do to get to where you want to go and what's feasible.  It's OK to have bad days and be upset at times, but I've found it's best to hold on to hope and have faith in the medical people and just try to take it one day at a time, easy does it.  Don't be too hard on yourself or expect too much too soon.

I totally recommend making sure you have the appropriate meds to deal with the pain and use them.  That and doing PT exercises faithfully are what will really help in the long run.

I don't know how you have withstood all the pain and suffering, Deb!!!  I'm so glad you shared your journey so that we can learn from your bravery and positive attitude!!!  Cheers for a new hip and a new life!!!

Thank you.  People here in the forums set a great example like @Goodie2shoes and it helps a lot.
