White bad guys are called thugs too. Some are trying to change the dictionary.

Exactly. The word has been around for a very very long time and has been used in a variety of ways, including bullying or intimidating behavior.

It has been used for a long time but we all know words can and do take on new meanings. Gay is one.

I can't see continuing to use a word to describe a black man when we know the word has become code.

I have to admit, he did look like a very, very angry "thug" (for lack of a better word) during that post-game interview. Again, had he controlled himself at that time, none of this would be an issue.

Do you know why he was angry? Because the media rushed to put his rant out there without reporting the entire story makes me cringe.

He taunted a player he had issues with from way back after he took away that player's last chance to give his team a victory. "H... of a game, and a slap on the bum," was just an extension of what bad blood that went down between those two quite some time ago. That's why Crabtree pushed him away. Not justifying either player's behavior then or previously, but as I said before, Sherman had the choice to wallow in the mud and that's exactly what he did. Am I supposed to admire him for that? You would never see that kind of behavior from Russell Wilson, nor probably any of the other players on the Seahawks team.

Who asked you to admire him?????

It was rhetorical.

Gotta love a Stanford University graduate with a 4.0 average!

The opposing team member displayed POOR sportsmanship.

Melania- I will seldom defend Rush. I can't remember the last time I did but I think it had to do with sports.... Rush is a lot of things but he is a major sports fan especially football and baseball. He knows his "stuff" and with a few exceptions, can speak intelligently on either subject.

Cool...never had the pleasure of hearing him give commentary on sports.

He would not be my go to guy for sports or anything for that matter...his agendas override it.

To each his own.

You have NO IDEA what goes on during a game.

Guys aim at their opponents kidneys (and other tender body parts). When they are all in a pile, they are kicking and scratching and trying to gouge at eyes.

My old BF (and my son's godfather) was a linebacker, now the Redskins defensive coordinator. I learned a LOT about what really happens in a football game from him and from the other players. For a few hours before the game and up to a day after, it's pure testosterone and adrenaline.

Yet, Sherman got the Seahawks a penalty for unsportsmanlike conduct, when he flashed the choke sign after the tip.
