I did my application for Medicare at a local SS office and am glad I did.  Somehow long the way, they had my names misspelled and it caused a hiccup even at their offices.  If I had done it online, who knows how long it would have taken to work itself out.

My SS# is my Medicare#....they are the same on both cards. I thought everyone's was so not sure why you would have different numbers; maybe they have changed it. I have a Medicare Advantage plan.

@Trailrun23 that shouldn't be.  That was changed quite a few years ago.

I became eligible in 2019 and my SS# was never my Medicare number.

My SS# is not my Medicare#. That means that everyone can see your SS#. I also have a Medicare Advantage Plan. I also just checked my brother's Medicare Card and it's not his SS#.

@Trailrun23  you need to request a new SS card, which will not have your SS number. It will be a bunch of numbers and letters.
