This is just a little post about a person I never met, but who had a profound effect on many others , most of whom he never met. First , I listen to a sports call in show almost daily and if you are familiar with these shows they have a loyal following. One of this shows frequent callers passed away recently at the age of 99. I was lucky enough to hear his last call to the guys and he sounded frail, but he was so positive and thanked the guys for everything ( they made sure that he could attend a few of their live remotes. The thing that always struck me about this gentleman was how he didn't live in the past and go on and on about how it was in the old days

      His favorite athletes were not from 50 years ago, but current and this guy knew his sports. He didn't just watch, but played tennis till he was 95.  This is a lesson I will try and remember as I get even older, LOL. If you've read this thanks for indulging me. 🌺

What an uplifting wonderful story!  It appears this man lived his life to the fullest, didn't dwell on what was but faced each day with a smile and a welcome.  It is a positive message and thank you for sharing. May he be at peace with God.

1 of my never forget is Jane Alexander, bankrupted by her 2nd husband & suspected in murdering her Aunt....first she got him convicted of fraud & then worked tirelessly to collect evidence to get him arrested & after years of delays finally convicted in her Aunt's murder.. After succeeding, she went on to help other victims families & co-founded Citizens Against Homicide. Jane passed away in 2008 at 86...a powerhouse of a woman who never gave up, I deeply admire her determination & follow her example. There's a movie & a book about her life & she was on 48 Hrs.

@QVCkitty1

What a positive and uplifting story.  We touch and are touched by so many in our lifetime that we never meet. Hopefully we all will have touched and been touched in a positive way.

Your comment, which I quote below jumped out at me:

"The thing that always struck me about this gentleman was how he didn't live in the past and go on and on about how it was in the old days

      His favorite athletes were not from 50 year ago but current"

I believe continuing to go forward, embracing the now, understanding new technology, know what's current and not ignoring innovations just because you have gotten along for so many years without.

I learned this first had by keeping up with grands. their music, fashions etc.  Being able to discuss their world with them.  We have stayed connected which is such a joy.

Thank you for sharing!
