Do you ever have thoughts that are shaped by a vague superstition or coincidence?
A few moments ago I wondered if the Cincinnati Bengals are destined to win the Super Bowl because the lunar new year began today, and it is the Year of the Tiger.
The Bengal Tiger is, I think, their mascot. The stripes on the tiger are like those on the helmets of the Cincinnati football players.

I admit to knowing next to nothing about football or the Cincinnati Bengals, but I am now wondering if something stronger than mere talent will work some magic on Super Bowl Sunday.
Any fun thoughts on this?
ETA: But, the LA Rams will have home team advantage. Fair fight.

You're kidding, right?

tends2dogs, no, I am not kidding. I do believe in forces beyond those we can see and easily understand. For this, however, I am stretching -- but why not?
That is why I put this on the forum. I wanted to see how others react to such a thought. You are practical and down-to-earth, right? I value your opinion.

There are people who believe that pro sport games are all rigged. Not superstition but controlled opposition.

I know it's not logical but bad things happen in threes has always stuck with me. I heard that repeatedly while growing up.
If two famous people die, I am waiting for the third:/

If things are going good, I tend to not say anything. I'm afraid I'll jinx it. I got that from my Mom.

To this day I will not put a bag with new shoes on the table when I get home from shopping. Grandma always said if you do that the shoes will hurt your feet. And I was always told death comes in three's. I know it sounds weird, but sometimes you can't escape your upbringing. I'm not a superstitious person, I don't know why these two things stick with me.❤️

It is the year of the Tiger and the Bengals believe it..... it could happen.
Two outstanding teams and quarterbacks.... it has been an amazing playoff season... on of the best in football ever. May the best team win.

I do not know enough about football in general or those two teams to have a superstition concerning their outcome. I would venture to say there is more than one player on the teams that has a superstition. The year of the tiger thing could have some merit.
I myself will never set my purse on the floor. Superstition says if you do, all the money will flow out. I personally have a lucky shirt that gets worn when the situation necessitates. I have also had an unlucky one that was tossed in the garbage. It was a total jinx.
