70 and first time using crock pot

made pot roast in crock pot...so much easier than in oven...hubby bought me one for Xmas...now on to a chicken dish

Yes, pearl onions.  

 

Used Rea Drummonds recpie....can of tomato paste and half a bottle of beer..plus onions, salt pepper and frond from searing meat..

Looks delicious. A good hint with crock pots is to get the liners. Makes clean up so much easier.

Love my crockpot -Nothing beats the smell of food cooking all day in it.  There are a lot of crockpot cook books out there.  I also make stews and soups in mine.  Have fun and enjoy yours.

One thing I just read was that you should not make chicken breasts in a slow cooker (food poisoning risk). Honestly, I've been putting them in my slow cooker for decades - even on low when I worked. Sometimes I don't know if I should believe things I see on Facebook.
