One thing I just read was that you should not make chicken breasts in a slow cooker (food poisoning risk). Honestly, I've been putting them in my slow cooker for decades - even on low when I worked. Sometimes I don't know if I should believe things I see on Facebook.

I hope that this statement was "tongue in cheek." Anyway, it's FROZEN chicken (or any frozen meat) that you shouldn't cook in a slow cooker.

@ProudMa

That looks very tasty.  I don't own a crock pot, but maybe it's time I did.

Re: 70 and first time using crock pot

@ProudMa    Tried to find the recipe by googling Ree Drummon's pot roast with beer and tomato paste. Couldn't find it.  Could you give us the recipe if it is not too much trouble? Or point us in the direction to find it online. Your dinner looks delicious. Thanks so much!

@ProudMa   Looks yummy. I love my slow cooker. My favorites are chili, beef stew & chicken cacciatore.

  I tried to google your recipe but couldn't find it either. Would you mind posting it here? Thanks

Re: 70 and first time using crock pot

I love using a crock pot too!  Glad you had success with your first meal using it.  Looks good!  Check out the Recipes forum too.  Several recipes for crock pot were posted recently.  I just made a pork roast on Sunday and will post the recipe.
