I wasn't born yet but I will never forget the stories my Mom told me about that horrible day.

I was 10 and don't remember finding out until later in the day.  School dismissed us without informing us.  I remember all of us glued to the TV (black & white) every day until the funeral.

I was in 10th grade English class and it came over the loud speaker.  Apparently my teacher had worked on his campaign and he took it very hard.  He said nothing to us and left the classroom.

We didn't know what to do.  It came over the loud speaker that we were being dismissed early.  What a horrible time in our history.  The TV coverage was non-stop.  Who can ever forget John John saluting his Father's cason as it passed him.  Such a sad, sad day.

I was only 5 years old but I do remember the day. I was riding my little blue rocking horse in the living room as my mother watched the TV. I remember asking her a lot of questions.

I was in first grade. I don't remember a lot, except a boy in my class standing on his chair and shaking his fist, yelling "It was Kruschev, it was Kruschev!"   Shoot, I didn't even know who Kruschev was!

We went to the library to watch either the news or maybe it was his funeral on a TV there.

I was 3 years old and remember seeing it on tv and knew even at that young age that something really bad happened probably due to my parents  response to it too.

I was in Japan with my husband who was in the airforce. He woke me up with the terrible news. It was quite a shock!

Re: 60 Years Ago Today

[ Edited ]

I was working at US CONARC, Ft Monroe, VA.  My fiancé  and soon to be husband, was a US Army Captain and he came in our office and said he heard it on the radio.
My boss left immediately to go to church across the street.  Then the phones started ringing.
I watched the news and saw Oswald being shot by Jack Ruby . It was live broadcast then. We also saw the funeral and John John salute. What a sad time it was!

i was in junior hs in homemaking class in Dallas.  We were watching the parade on tv.  Suddenly things were a jumble and there were reports something had happened.  It doesn't seem quite real anymore.  It was a quiet town then.  Schools were closed and we went home to watch live coverage for the next four days including the murder of Oswald by Jack Ruby live on Sunday morning.  The rest of the 60s would prove to be equally disturbing.

I was in 4th grade geography class when the Mother Superior came in to the classroom and made the announcement that JFK had been shot. By the time we proceeded over to the church for a special mass Father announced that he had died.

I'll never forget the sound of my mom's sobs when I got home that afternoon.
