4th Of July Is Next Weekend, Any Plans?

Maybe my eyesight is worse than I thought but haven't seen anything here about 4th of July plans. Lots of Christmas talk though.

Are you having or going to a cookout? I thought after last year being a bust it would be a big topic.

DH's nephew always has a huge picnic. I'm talking 80/100 people. A ton of food. The nephew, his wife and her brother supply 1/2 chickens that they BBQ. He does a great chicken. Last year he added ribs. Always the usual burgers and hot dogs too.

They have a large piece of property with a pavillion, electricity for refrigerators for cold stuff. Room for kids to run, play ball, the older cousins (the 50 yr. olds) play cards or trival pursuit etc. Band and and fireworks at night.

It is next Saturday. Not sure if I am going. No specific reason just not sure I want to deal with a few of his relatives.

Actual 4th, no plans. What are you doing for the weekend of the 4th.?

Yep! Plan on ice skating at least 2 of those days.

Since we have never been 'large gathering' type of people, probably at home grilling a rack of ribs. Whatever makes us feel safe, sound, happy, and proud to be Americans.

We'll be grilling and eating with family, then watching fireworks! I'm looking forward to it!

Haha! We'll be watching city fireworks, but in years past when my husband and some of the other neighborhood pyromaniacs put on their own show, I'm the one fussing at them and holding the fire extinguisher!
