having attended funerals for fallen officers we've known I can tell you this........it rips your insides out..........a squad car will be there, a call will come from dispatch radioing the car, it will repeat.........then the dispatch will call out the code for end of watch, the officers badge number, date and time of his death and then there is radio silence for one minute......I've seen grown men have to walk away.........it tears me up that it has happened two more times..........

so the next time anyone wants to hate on a cop, remember, EVERYDAY they go out there, they RISK their lives........wives risk their husbands, husbands their wives, mother's and fathers their sons and daughters, ALL in the name of protecting you.............and kids...........kids risk a dad who walks them down the aisle............a dad who teaches them how to play ball..........a mom who shows them for the first time how to really apply make up, or take them for their first prom dress, or kisses their booboo when they get hurt...........they risk a lot for you all, they risk it ALL...........so think about that, the next time you want to slam some cop because he fired on someone......next time remember all Sheriff Danny Oliver did was walk up to a car........his kids, his wife, now will have to find a way to go on without him..........and that cop in Ferguson, you remember today when you want to throw him on the fire.

I have several cops in my family, including my dad. We know that , most cops are good.

Yes tansy I know. People who go into law enforcement are a reflection of society. Like any other profession, you get good and bad.

I don't like the cop bashing. I detest it. I hate when a cop does his/her job and gets raked over the coals before the facts have come in. They don't risk their lives because it's their job. They do it for us. To ensure our safety. Yet many of us criticize them in the harshest terms and if you talk to any cop it not only hurts morale, it hurts them personally.

They are human and have flaws but are expected to be robotic and never make errors. And we judge from our living room sofa.

A sincere thank you to all the cops and their families both here and out there.

Raven, I agree that not all cops are bad but I do know that many are and have been corrupt. I deal with one weekly. Many are immoral but they do respond to the public dangerous calls. I still don't think that warrants anyone taking their lives just because they want to. This bad guy will probably be taken down in a firefight and deservedly so.
