What IS that?
The Hoff.
At the Wall.
Singing.
Oh dear....The Hoff? I don't know who that is?David Hasselhoff - star of "Knight Rider", "Bay Watch"
I was wracking my brain and could only think of Abbie Hoffman.

Ohhh, LOL! Sorry, I never heard him called Hoff before. I remember him from The Young and the Restless soap opera.
He played Snapper, right? That was the soap my mom watched and I remember him from her watching that show back then.
He was not the original Snapper. That was William Gray Espy -- I was pregnant with my first and had such a crush on the real Snapper. LOL.

I do. I remember watching all the coverage of the assassination on our old black and white TV. The day Oswald was shot, my family was in D. C., lining the route the casket took from the WH to the Capitol. Little Caroline waved in my direction as their car passed. As we were waiting for the procession, word circulated through the crowd that Oswald had been shot. People had brought transistor radios with them and heard the news on their radios. I will never forget the steady murmur of the crowd as it was discussed. Everyone was shocked. I remember it as though it happened yesterday.

I can remember he wasn't the original because years later when Knight Rider came on I would say look mom, there is Snapper. She would say that isn't the real Snapper. I just looked it up and Espy was on between 73-75 and Hasselhoff came on from 75-82. That explains why I remember him more. I am trying to find a pic of the real Snapper.

Thanks Scottie. He doesn't look familiar to me at all. To me Snapper is Hasselhoff!

My world was playing with my cousins, running around outside barefoot, listening to the grasshoppers in the field, catching lightening bugs. Teasing my brother, riding my bike, figuring out how to get out of eating my dinner (I hated grown up food), climbing trees and having dad get me back down.
Ahh sweet innocent times.
We had the same kind of childhood, Scottie. I do remember the BIG news that happened when I was nine: Apollo 11 landing on the moon and our first moonwalk.
My grandparents were visiting for the weekend. My parents had bought me a new bicycle that day--a pretty turquoise buzz bike with a flowered banana seat and a basket that had plastic flowers on it.
It was dark outside, but my dad had turned on the floodlights at our house and I was riding my new bike around and around our backyard. Normally I wouldn't have been allowed to stay up that late, let alone outside playing. But the adults were all waiting for the landing....we had company....it was like a holiday!
I can't remember what time it was, but it was late when the moonwalk happened. When it was time, my dad called out for me to come in and watch. Very exciting!

I can definitely remember things that happened when I was 9 years old. The trick is trying to remember what happened yesterday.
