So sad and such a loss. Hit in the middle of the night is scary.  Prayers to everyone effected by this tragedy.

@Preds : Yes, praying for everyone. Just received email from friend that lives near Nashville asking for prayers. She indicated that her church choir director's- niece, husband and two year old daughter were killed in the tornado.

In my city we feel like need to build an Ark, 100% rain, yesterday, today and tomorrow. Southern Bee

Oh @SouthernBee , I'm so very sorry.  My prayers for their family and friends.  After going thru the flood in 2010 I can understand your feelings about the Ark.  How I wish we had built one.

this lost of life is so tragic. i still can't understand why there was no warning signals. i have severe weather warnings programed for my cell phone and we have tornado sirens that go off. these would helped so much. so sad.

There are warnings @10sluvr .  There are apps, there are sirens and there are weather warning systems you can purchase on line, but they don't always help if you don't hear them in time or if the power is knocked out prior to the storms hitting.  We have two sirens near us, but I can't hear them unless I'm awake or outside.  My phone didn't go off, but DH's did.  Several things can happen within minutes and you can't always be prepared.

It's a horrible death toll and, as always, long-term ramifications for survivors.  Prayers for all affected and the area's recovery from this disaster.
