How will Grammy week differ in 2025?

Within days of fires ravaging the Pacific Palisades and Altadena neighborhoods, the Recording Academy and its affiliated MusiCares charity launched the Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort with a $1 million dollar donation.

According to a letter sent to members on Jan. 13, thanks to additional contributions, they've already distributed $2 million in emergency aid.

Once the fund was set up, Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason jr. said they began focusing on reformatting what Grammy week would look like — many conversations conducted "on the road, mobile-y, virtually" as staffers had evacuated their homes.

The 2025 Grammys were not postponed but will focus its attention on wildfire relief efforts.

“This year’s show ... will carry a renewed sense of purpose: raising additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and honoring the bravery and dedication of first responders who risk their lives to protect ours,” Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason jr. and Tammy Hurt, chair of the board of trustees wrote in a letter sent to Recording Academy members on Monday that was obtained by The Associated Press.

“In challenging times, music has the power to heal, comfort, and unite like nothing else. The Grammys will not only honor the artistry and achievements of our music community but also serve as a platform to amplify the spirit of resilience that defines this great city of Los Angeles.”

Last week, the Recording Academy and MusiCares launched the Los Angeles Fire Relief Effort with a $1 million donation. According to the letter, thanks to additional contributions, they've already distributed $2 million in emergency aid.

I am not I interested in watching the Grammys. Somehow it figures that they are only going to raise money to help the people in LA, where people in other parts of the country have suffered greatly due to natural disasters.

Hmm.  Imteresting point.     Maybe we need something like...

Hmm.  Imteresting point. @Puppy Lips

Maybe we need something like "Farm Aid," say, maybe something like "Disaster Aid?"

                     or, like:

"We Are the World" was a charity single recorded by the supergroup USA for Africa to raise money for famine relief in Africa. The song was released in 1985 and became a global hit.

The song was created to raise money for African famine relief, especially in Ethiopia during the 1983–1985 famine"
