Re: 20 minutes later . . . too late to cancel an order

Recently, it was several hours after ordering - I went to my order on-line and clicked Cancel - and it worked. You should call CS.

It's NOT faster delivery, it still takes 2 long days before an item is shipped to me - so, living in the NW, I am lucky if I receive it in 7 days. So if you can't cancel something in 20 min., something is "rotten in Denmark"!

I was thinking the same thing. It can say "In Process" even four days later sometimes. If it's not in the shipping process, why should you not be able to cancel?

In process within minutes but doesn't get mailed out for days. that's about right. qvc and hsn processing centers at their best.

Shoppers wanted faster delivery and QVC is trying to give what we asked for. I've had that experience a few times but not within 20 minutes. I've ordered something and tried to cancel an hour or two later and it was too late. On a couple of occasions, I canceled something and surprise, surprise; I then get an email telling me that my item shipped. It was too late to cancel. I just don't accept delivery when it comes. If I'm really debating about whether I want something or not; I use the check option. If I decide I really do want it, I call CS and pay for it with my credit card. If I don't want it, I cancel it.

I was going to say the same thing. It used to take 11-12 days before I received an item after it was mailed. I am now getting my items in 5-7 days...they have made quite an improvement.

Re: 20 minutes later . . . too late to cancel an order

I would guess that if you order a QVC item, that will ship from their own warehouse, it takes a few days to process and you can cancel for a day or so.

But if you order a vendor product that drop ships, the order goes direct to that location and QVC have no further control over it.

That would explain why experiences vary.

Re: 20 minutes later . . . too late to cancel an order

I had that happen a couple of months ago and I was po'd. Then the item sat in "processing" for three or four days. I decided if it happened again, I will tell customer service that I will refuse the delivery. With HSN you have until midnight the day of ordering to cancel. I think this is a fairly new "rule" with the Q. Ever since I became a customer I was able to cancel within a reasonable time, but as of the last time ~ no.

Ford, try canceling again. I've had your same experience but was able to cancel it later.

I think they've really clamped down on cancelling. I recently ordered something at night and tried to cancel the next morning only to be told it was too late.

We used to be able to do that before. You have to be really careful now, read ahead of time, even though it means it may be sold out before you get to it.

I have the feeling a lot of people have been cancelling after they read the reviews.

You hit the nail on the head, Noel. I ordered first because I liked the color and didn't want it to sell out, as one color already had. Then I went right to my computer to read the reviews. In that short amount of time, I couldn't cancel it.

Now maybe if it was a small item, like a lipstick or something, I would just keep it, but this is a $200 handbag and I will have to return it if it's not suitable for me.

Next time, put the item into "check status" instead. It will be held until you call back to either cancel the order, or turn it over to your credit/debit card.
