Ford.... when the package arrives... if it is by post office, just return it to the post office unopened telling them you are refusing the package.... if it is by UPS.... tell the driver you refuse the package or call the company if they drop it on your doorstep and tell them to pick it up.... that you are refusing it..... I have done both.... and you may be charged for postage ONE way.... I cant remember..... but that is the best advice I have. Good luck.

It will come UPS, and I will never catch the driver . . . they run through these halls like lightning! There are many UPS deliveries in this building every day (and a lot from QVC).

I will try though. Thanks!

Re: 20 minutes later . . . too late to cancel an order

Shoppers wanted faster delivery and QVC is trying to give what we asked for. I've had that experience a few times but not within 20 minutes. I've ordered something and tried to cancel an hour or two later and it was too late. On a couple of occasions, I canceled something and surprise, surprise; I then get an email telling me that my item shipped. It was too late to cancel. I just don't accept delivery when it comes. If I'm really debating about whether I want something or not; I use the check option. If I decide I really do want it, I call CS and pay for it with my credit card. If I don't want it, I cancel it.

Re: 20 minutes later . . . too late to cancel an order

It all depends on who is shipping the order. If QVC is packaging the order and shipping it, one usually has a longer window. If the order is being transmitted to a vendor to be drop-shipped, the order usually goes through immediately, and one cannot cancel.

In regards to the poster who suggested using check-hold, be aware that QVC is now cracking down on people who have abused this privilege (to hold an item until reviews com in and then decide to switch to credit card or cancel). I have seen numerous posts from people who have lost the ability to do check holds or who have had accounts closed due to too many cancellations (I am not accusing the poster of this!).

HSN's processing is set up differently, though, and I believe one still has until midnight on the day of order to cancel; after midnight, though, no one can cancel.

Re: 20 minutes later . . . too late to cancel an order

I think QVC is tightening up their cancellation policy as I've always been able to cancel within a reasonable amount of time. 20 minutes is a little too small of a window, IMO. HSN is very difficult to cancel, but they've been like that forever. I guess QVC is now the same.

Ford, I don't understand the technological intricacies of why it works like this but I've had the same thing happen - couldn't cancel shortly after ordering. I then waited till later in the day and was able to cancel with no problem. Perhaps when you tried to cancel it was so soon after ordering that their system didn't recognize your order. Whatever it is, as someone else posted, you can also call CS and they will do it for you.

Re: 20 minutes later . . . too late to cancel an order

I think because of this technological age once something is input into "the system" it takes much more to get it cancelled. I've had this happen to me a couple of times on other venues, but I understand the computer age and its complications that come with having everything being "instant".

Now with smaller companies that have no "distributors" other than their business location I have been successful in canceling something even later in the process. Big to me equals more problems and one need look no further than the biggest of the big to see what happens when there are too many involved in any transaction.

If you now don't want it don't except it when it is delivered, assuming you are there when it arrives of course. That too I have done a few times under similar situations as this one you mention in this thread.

If you love the bag otherwise and the only problem is the shallow pockets that won't hold your cell phone, you could try purse inserts with pockets and/or a cell phone holder (I have a Coach one that I love for my iphone - and it wasn't all that expensive.)

The system is weird. Lately, I have been able to cancel days after ordering, but at other times, I couldn't cancel after only ten minutes from ordering.

Re: 20 minutes later . . . too late to cancel an order

It's NOT faster delivery, it still takes 2 long days before an item is shipped to me - so, living in the NW, I am lucky if I receive it in 7 days. So if you can't cancel something in 20 min., something is "rotten in Denmark"!

What I used to do is order an item & pay with check - often the next a.m. I will have reconsidered & then cancel it; if I decide I do want it, then change to debit/credit card. Unfortunately, cannot do that w/HSN anymore, they no longer accept checks!

That's what I was going to say, but how long before they put a stop to that?
