Re: 1978 Lincoln Continental

Rode in one a number of times over the years!  My favorite was one in the 1960's white with suicide doors!

We had a gigantic 1967 Chevy and a bigger 1972 Oldsmobile, couple aunts had Lincolns.  I have driven both and ridden in them.  The Olds had tighter suspension, the Lincolns I drove and rode in had a very floaty cushy ride.

Went with mom to test drive one and when we turned the corner and the car rocked we laughed and said "We're at sea!!!  We are afloat."

Well, that's a nasty comment.

I'm medically-classified as "obese", yet I fit quite comfortably in my Dodge Charger.

Re: 1978 Lincoln Continental

A boy in my high school senior class ('69) had a Lincoln Continental. Not sure the year but it was rather new at the time. It was a convertible.

It was the BEST car. Many kids could fit into the car. So if we were going to the shore (His parents had a house in Ocean City, NJ). We could all pile into his car.

Had lots of good times in that Lincoln Continental.

Re: 1978 Lincoln Continental

My first car was a baby blue Corvair, I loved it but my mom wrecked her car so the Corvair had to be traded-in & I was shocked when a block long Bonneville with fins pulled into the drive for my mom & me to share...I thought, No Thanks I'll walk, lol. Anyway later my dad surprised me with a 1961 Rambler American, it looked like a brown shoebox on wheels, just awful. My dad was always coming home with different vehicles, I remember an Edsel convertible we had for 3 days that we had to push home from the store. Those were fun times...I still dream about that Corvair.

Re: 1978 Lincoln Continental

When I was in high school, my sophmore year for four months I drove a 1974 Lincoln Mark IV sky blue, I loved that car.  My mom started going to work with my step dad to work in our store so they let me have his car for awhile.  Then they got me a 1969 Buick Electric that some Dr. they knew was selling.  So ugly but fit almost my entire Drill Team in the backseat.  I never parked the Lincoln in the garage but in the driveway.  The hood on that thing was LONG!!  Man I still dream about that car and dragging Broadway back in the late '70's.

Re: 1978 Lincoln Continental

My cousin had one sometime in the late 1970's.  He was either close to graduating or had just recently graduated.  His was a light to medium blue.
