I haven't been able to see any interviews with her attorney, but I might search and see if any are on the internet. I would love to hear that attorney and compare it with that discussion today. This guy said it would hinge on those 3 thresholds and he thought there was merit to argue those thresholds had not been met in this case. Guess we will just have to stay tuned.

ETA: If you hear what the other threshold is tansy.....remember it for me!! I for the life of me cannot remember what the 4th one was.

Sorry, but I don't remember a fourth point.

I have heard it said that a patient is symptomatic when they start not feeling well.

That would be so subjective, I mean lots of people don't feel well on any given day yet they don't have the flu or ebola or anything.

That's what I've wondered. All we keep hearing is she/he didn't have a fever. Are there no symptoms that would precede a fever. The doctor in NY said he felt sluggish for a couple days prior to his developing a fever. Was he then "symptomatic". And no, I'm not worried that my family is catching anything from his subway car; it's just a question.

From the Mayo Clinic,

Signs and symptoms typically begin abruptly within five to 10 days of infection with Ebola or Marburg virus. Early signs and symptoms include:

  • Fever
  • Severe headache
  • Joint and muscle aches
  • Chills
  • Weakness

Over time, symptoms become increasingly severe and may include:

  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Diarrhea (may be bloody)
  • Red eyes
  • Raised rash
  • Chest pain and cough
  • Stomach pain
  • Severe weight loss
  • Bleeding, usually from the eyes, and bruising (people near death may bleed from other orifices, such as ears, nose and rectum)
  • Internal bleeding

Thank you focksie for the link from the CDC. That's what I thought still stood as ways of transmission of ebola.

Quacker, Dam Yankee and all.

Well this was timely. My dd as some of you may know is a nursing student. She is doing her clinicals this year after 2 years of prep. Anyway, they were just assigned a required video on ebola. It was put out by the Univ. in connection with some state agency.

I found one of the statements to be of special interest:

"Ebola cannot be spread through air or water; although, sneezing or coughing can cause droplets containing ebola to be transmitted from person to person."

Well, whaddyaknow about that? I raised that question on day one and was mocked and ridiculed by the condescension crew for it. Thanks, Scottttttie.

Hey, so here's a riddle... How do you save a lawyer from drowning?

She just needs recognition for her sacrifice and she has been brave but now take it one step further and make sure that the rest of us who are not so brave feel safe .She has done a great service in the name of her country and does deserve special attention but she needs to care about her own country too.I appreciate her sacrifices and those of all the military and medical people that are helping battle this virus.Thank you brave Americans!Stay healthy and safe everyone.
