Neither of which have the power or authority to define state law.

I'm sorry, dooBdoo... I did it again! I watched that Maine news conference and just couldn't keep my mouth shut.
They just keep really getting on my nerves... I've gone off the deep end and I am not responsible for my actions!
Hey, kittymom.
I'm not condemning or chiding, just stating the facts. And that's why I included "moi."
I know, I'm just trying to lighten the moment a little. And I imagine I will be chastised for that, since I did chastise some people for making fun on an actual Ebola thread. I may get my comeuppance!
A comeuppance on you kittymom! JK
I truly hope she doesn't get arrested because it could impact her ability to travel (some countries ask if you've been arrested and don't really care if you've been convicted or not). It could also negatively influence future employers.
Shame on me! ![]()
Truly, I hope she doesn't either. I wish I knew what it really is that's motivating her to do this. Somehow I just don't think it's as simple as wanting to be in the spotlight.

Maybe she's trying to ease the burden for other volunteer medical personnel. Somewhere I thought I read that she used a 3-week vacation to help and then faced with a 3-week quarantine.

OT: I updated the other thread. Her face looks really puffy, she is ill. She just went to the Grand Canyon (on her bucket list). She may not end her life on Saturday. ..She said she moved to Oregon and had the RX filled, before she joined that group.

I just don't understand why people don't realize what a burden it puts on these people who go over there, have to do and see Lord knows what, and then come back to a 21 day quarantine. I know when I was working, I would have been lucky to be able to take 3 whole weeks of my vacation at one time, let alone have to be out for an additional 3 weeks. I don't know if I would have still had a job.
I'm afraid that this really will deter a lot of people who might otherwise decide to make the sacrifice to go over there and do that work. And although some people say, well, if America doesn't do it, someone else will. Really? America has to lead on this -- otherwise, I don't see this epidemic being contained over there.

I didn't know there was a thread about Brittany. I saw a news article earlier today, and the description of experience at the Grand Canyon indicated it was both exhilarating and excruciating. She's not doing well.

Yes, I said that and it's not true that America has the lead on this kitty. You don't hear what other countries do because you're watching American-based TV and reading American journals/articles. The primary non-governmental organization involved is MSF which is Belgian. The French and British are very involved. I while back I posted international aid for the Ebola effort and this truly is a worldwide effort.

I didn't realize that, Mom... thanks for the information. I think I may need to widen my horizons some. I knew the French and British are involved, but I didn't realize that the Doctors Without Borders organization is actually Belgian. This is one of the reasons I like coming to the forums, I learn something almost every day, especially from people like you!
