$1.48 challenge

My church is starting the $1.48 challenge Sunday morning for members of our parish.

We have a program where we feed the homeless lunch and a snack 2 days per week and 3 other churches do the other days and we all have seen an increase.

Anyone else trying to do this to understand how difficult it is for people in our communities to feed their families ?
