Yes! Good news that she's home and resting comfortably, according to reports!

She is one of the primary reasons that I chose law and why I stayed with law practice during a time when women were treated like assistants and not professionals in their own right. Over the years times have changed and I am so proud of today's young women lawyers. Ruth Bader Ginsberg is a pioneer and a role model for thousands of us.
At the beginning of her career, RBG had difficulty finding a job. She was rejected for a Supreme Court clerkship position because she was a woman. She was a law professor at Rutgers Law School where she was told that she would be paid less than her male colleagues because her husband had a good paying job. She was only one of fewer than 20 female law professors in the United States. She founded the first law journal focused on women's rights. She later taught at Columbia Law School where she was the first tenured woman and where she co-authored the first law school casebook on sex discrimination. She argued six gender discrimination cases before the Supreme Court and won five. She wrote the legal brief in the Supreme Court case that extended the equal protection clause of the constitution to women. In one of her more famous Supreme Court cases she represented a widower denied Social Security survivor benefits, which were only available to widows who cared for minor children. She successfully argued that the law discriminated against men on the basis of sex.
Our daughters can be police officers and fire fighters because of RBG. Our daughters can play college sports and are awarded sports scholarships because of RBG. Women and men owe her a debt that can never be paid. She is more than my role model, she is my hero and I wish her a speedy recovery.
And she's able to bond with people who have differing ideologies, such as Antonin Scalia. They reportedly had a very close friendship. She seems to be well-respected by her colleagues at the Supreme Court. I hope that when this session ends, she will have time to fully recuperate so that she doesn't keep getting these infections.
ETA: Oh and by the way, I wonder why John Roberts overnight hospitalization wasn't big news when it happened. Days later it was reported that he had a seizure and was hospitalized. Not that I want him to be sick either, but when I read it, I was like . . . wait, what?!
@Tadaki Good question about John Roberts. Don't know why the media wasn't all over that. I still hadn't read/seen anything about it until I read it here. Where did you learn about it...in other words...source?
@esmerelda Not sure if I'm allowed to give a link, but it was the Washington Post. I did re-read it and they aren't sure about what caused the fall. They said maybe he was dehydrated. But he was taken by ambulance to the hospital where he stayed overnight and had sutures.

Hang in there RBG. We need you now more than ever.

@esmerelda wrote:@Tadaki Wait...do you mean the one he had in July 2007? Who remembers if /when they heard about that? It was 13 years ago.
No, it was LAST MONTH when he was hospitalized. June, 2020.
@Sushismom Not because of a seizure as @Tadaki said. Although it could have been as I understand he has epilepsy.
So it WAS reported in a timely manner. Yes?
@esmerelda According to the Post article: "Roberts did not publicly disclose the matter, and the court’s confirmation came in response to an inquiry from The Washington Post, which received a tip."

RBG is being treated for liver cancer. Her current treatment seems to be helping.

I’ve heard that it’s a flair of the Pancreatic cancer for which she has continued treatment, but I have no inside information.
Sending Justice RBG ♥️ Best Wishes for Health, and happiness!

We're both correct, @Drythe. Her pancreatic cancer has spread to her liver.

Come on, Justice Ginsburg! So many of us are rooting for you.

That woman is amazing, she has beat cancer 3 times.
@lianne Really? You think god is pleased?
What an ugly question.
You should do some research. RBG is the reason women have equal rights in the workplace among many freedoms we now take for granted.
