It is a genre named after a period in Great Britian named the Regency because King George the III was deemed unfit to rule , so his son the Prince Regent, ruled in his place, till he became king in 1820

I guess we should say, Georgette Heyer romances started the genre. Make sure you pick up one of her romances, and not one of her mysteries, which are for die-hard Heyer fans only, in my opinion.

Love Eloisa James, she writes well, plays with words, rather sparrs with them, she is funny, creative, you name it...however her last novel three minutes in heaven was a huge disappointment. It took me less than two minutes to know that I was somewhere else🌻I listen to her books via Aubible (belongs to Amazon) and had to return it.
i also like Courtney Milan, Georgette Heyer, Lorraine Heath and Lisa Kleypass to name a few.

Grace Burrows is a favorite, because of her wonderful way with language. Plus I love her male characters.
