Mine would be Lord of Scoundrels.
BUT - I have a TON I absolutely love ... and I'm always looking for more.

Oh you have hit on my guilty pleasure catnip. Grace Burrows , Mary Balogh and Julia Quinn are my favorite authors. The Heir, by Burrows is my favorite regency.🌺

I know. It is totally a guilty pleasure. Since I have my Kindle, I don't have to be ashamed about reading a book callled "Ardent Pagan Raptures"
I loved Slightly Dangerous.

I almost forgot, Eloisa James, another favorite.

Eloisa James is good. I've read her, but none of her books stand out. Still, I know she's a quality read, and I know anybody reading her is not wasting their time. Quality books.
She's a professor at Fordham. Came out of the closet as a romance writer after several appearances on the NYT best sellers list.

I know , many snobs who scoff at this genre would be surprised at how educated the authors are, and how detailed the research of that period is.

My sister is 5 years older than I am and on a trip to the library one day she forced me out of the children's section and into Victoria Holt. LOL
I think she wrote her Regency books as Jean Plaidy.
Victoria Holt wrote under 4 or 5 names.
Between VH and Danielle Steel, they could bang out books faster than anyone.

Norah Lofts is the queen of romance novels. She's a best seller under all her pseudonymns.

Lisa Kleypas: The Wallflower series and the Hathaway series. Sabrina Jeffries. Tessa Dare. In addition to all the previous mentions.

@stuyvesantI looked this book up and see it's a popular favorite. By Loretta Chase right? Must be out of print as it's selling used for $8, and the download is less. I found it at half.com for a dollar because I still prefer to hold a book. I don't have a favorite regency romance as it's been too long but read a time travel set in that time and really enjoyed it. I can go find it in my bookshelf if anyone is interested in time travel romances. Thanks for the thread of book ideas!
