@sunala      Hi.  I am actually in the market for a really good book.  The kind that you pick up and can't put down right from the start.  Does anyone have any suggestions?  I use to read all the time and then I stopped.  Why?  I don't know but I would like to start up again.  Thanks.  Cat Very Happy

@CANDLEQUEEN  I use to love reading Dean Koonz; that lawyer that became a writer (can't remember his name); some romance novels but not overly romantic.  I don't care for Stephen King but other than that I am open.  I don't like books that take 2 chapters to enjoy.  I want something to grab me from the first page or two.

I think you might mean John Grisham. I used to read all of his books, but haven't read anything of his in a long time....I love Dean Koontz too, haven't read any of his in a long time either......You should go onto the website Goodreads.......It is a wealth of information about books, and you can also sign up to win free books. I have won at least 7 or 8 books since I joined. I love that website......I know a lot of readers on here, belong to Goodreads as well. I will go look at my list of books that I have read lately and post back some that I think you would enjoy!

Re: WHAT ARE YOU READING? MARCH 2018

@Katcat1 Ok Here are a few that I have read, that I really liked......I thought they were easy to get into, they are mostly Mystery/thrillers, but not scary!

The Wife Between Us

Whispers(Belva Plain) an older book, but very very good.

Those Girls(Chevy Stevens)

The Kind Worth killing

Behind Closed Doors

To name a few. I am sure as more people see this post, you get other recommendations as well.......

Re: WHAT ARE YOU READING? MARCH 2018

I read Love Letters From Lady Bug Farm by Donna Ball. This was the third in a series. I enjoyed the first two more but will read the rest of the series as there are only a couple of books left and I do want to find out what happens to the characters.

I also read Luckiest Girl Alive by Jessica Knoll. The main character was not very likable and the subject matter is serious. At first I thought I didn't like it at all, but as time went on it did make me think, which is one of the reasons that we read. I also read that part of the book was based on the author's own experience when she was fifteen and in high school. So perhaps she wrote this book to work through some of her own demons. Anyway after this one, I think I need what I believe @judaline calls a literary palate cleanser. If I have the source of the phrase wrong please correct me.

I'm currently reading " Little Fires Everywhere ", by Celeste Ng. I'm about 1/4 through it and it is hard to put down.  Families, mystery and secrets in Shaker Heights. I just finished " Mrs : A .Novel " by Caitlin Macy. If you liked " Big Little Lies" you will enjoy this.
