Re: ~WHAT ARE YOU READING?~ JUNE 2018

I've been really busy reading and it was nothing that I planned to read!

I have finished:
Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows on Audible, read by Jim Dale (he's a master!)

The Light Between Oceans by ML Stedman (for Book Club #1)- I did not like this book. The premise was good. The bones of the story were solid, but for me, it dragged on and on and on - it isn't a very long book. This was not my favorite book of June, that's for sure.

The Zookeeper's Wife by Diane Ackerman - I had started this one a long time ago and then just abandoned it with the bookmark still in it. I was cleaning my library in my house, picked it up again and finished it.

The Lying Game by Ruth Ware (for Book Club #2) - I really wanted to like this book, but I just didn't connect with any of the characters and I figured out the mystery early. Bummer

11/22/63 by Stephen King - For as much as I read, this was my first ever Stephen King book. It was a long one and I read the paperback version instead of e-book, so it was a heavy read (literally) that I could only read during the day. It was fascinating and very much worth my time. Liked it a lot!

Now I am getting back to my pile I planned to read:
Us Against You by Fredrik Backman

Shelter in Place by Nora Roberts

Time Bomb by Joelle Charbonneau

Ophelia and the Marvelous Boy by Karen Foxlee

Just finished re-reading the "Wayward Pines" trilogy.  Read them back when they first came out and found the three books when I was looking for something to read.  I enjoyed them when I first read them, but knowing what was going to happen, I liked them better the second time around.

Just started "City Of Endless Night" (Preston/Child Pendergast series).

I liked "Wayward Pines" when it was a series on TV a couple years ago. I never read the books; they might be better than the TV version.

@SparklesMcGee-  I so enjoy your reviews!

I'm so happy that you enjoyed 11/22/63. Of all Stephen King's books, and I've read many of them, this was my favorite! A mini-series was made of this book and I thought it was excellent. They were showing it on Hulu last year, so I subscribed just to see the movie. I was going to cancel after my free trial subscription, but now, almost a year later, I still have it. How smart these sites are to give you a peek at what you're missing so you'll subscribe.

I really want to see the film Mr. Mercedes, but it's on Direct TV only, and I don't have it. I don't think I'm going for a trial subscription, because aside from Hulu, I did the same thing with Netflix, so now I have two extra bills a month. I'm not looking for 3, even though I'd love to see the Mr. Mercedes movie!

Wow, @LoriLori, what a disappointment!  I hate it when a book lets me down, especially if I paid money for it!  On to better books for you!

Thanks, @dawg lover.  I got it very cheap and it wasn't worth it LOL.  But I have an embarrassment of riches on my shelves.  So I'm in very good shape Smiley Happy

Re: ~WHAT ARE YOU READING?~ JUNE 2018

I finished up A is for Alibi by Sue Grafton, and I really enjoyed the book. I have found another author to add on to my TBR lists.

I have started Be Afraid by Mary Burton.

@beckyb1012. I Have the Perfect Couple on my list to read.It sounds really good. Please do a review when you finish! Thanks Becykb1012..

It was really good @CANDLEQUEEN.  Elin did very well for her suspense type novel.  Not as suspenseful as the others we have all read but kept me still wondering and trying to figure out at the end.  Had an inkling about who did what but did not know why until the end.  You will enjoy.

As for this past weekend reading:

The Death Of Mrs. Westway, by Ruth Ware;

As You Wish, by Jude Deveraux.
