I'm now reading Young Jane Young by Gabrielle Zevin. From goodreads:
Young Jane Young's heroine is Aviva Grossman, an ambitious Congressional intern in Florida who makes the life-changing mistake of having an affair with her boss‑‑who is beloved, admired, successful, and very married‑‑and blogging about it. When the affair comes to light, the Congressman doesn’t take the fall, but Aviva does, and her life is over before it hardly begins. She becomes a late‑night talk show punchline; she is ******‑shamed, labeled as fat and ugly, and considered a blight on politics in general.
I just started it and I'm enjoying it. I needed a break after reading The Flight Attendant, which I was enjoying very much until the ending, which didn't make me happy. I hate when that happens!

Is Smith’s 44 Scotland Street series as good as the No. 1 Ladies Detective series (which I loved!)?
@Another new name Sue The No. 1 Ladies Detective series is more popular and I do like it, but I love all the characters in the 44 Scotland Street series. They are more varied and eccentric, and the plots (if you can call them plots) are sometimes satirical and even laugh out loud funny, and filled with philosophical conundrums. And who couldn't love Bertie, the now 7 year old optimist, who tries to see the best in everything.

Started AJ FINN WOMAN IN THE WINDOW highly recommended here. 1/4 of the way through and am enjoying it very much.
@Yahooey it was a good book but do not forget to read The Wife Between Us if you have not done so yet. I read it just after Woman In The Window and really liked it much better. More suspense and I could not figure out the ending like so many other books.
@beckyb1012 another one on my list - thanks

I just finished Sue Grafton's W is for Wasted. I learned about her death from the Book Club thread here and decided that I should try one of her books. This is my first Sue Grafton books and it is definitely not my last. It is a detective story featuring a private investigator Kinsey Milhone. It is not a typical crime story. It is smart and interesting. I'll be reading more of the Kinsey Milhone series (also called the Alphabet series).

Just finished The Fourth Friend by Joy Ellis, I enjoyed it very much! I had no thoughts to what was going on, and the ending left me opened mouth stating, What? Any author, that leaves me guessing until the very end gets an A+ in my book!

I'm reading John Steinbeck's Cannery Row . It's been a long time since I read any classics, and hadn't read Steinback in years. I forgot what a good author he was; he wrote about the human condition and the story makes you feel like you know the characters. I can picture the setting of Monterey, CA, even though I've never been there. Very powerful writing.

I am currenty reading:
A once accomplished concert pianist, Richard now has ALS. As he becomes increasingly paralyzed and is no longer able to live on his own, Karina becomes his reluctant caretaker. As Richard's muscles, voice, and breath fade, both he and Karina try to reconcile their past before it's too late.
My cousin died the same horrible way. Quite honestly, I'm not really sure why I'm reading it. I'll just say it's keeping me interested.![]()

I just finished Robert Thornhill's latest in the Lady Justice series, Lady Justice and the Magic Dragon. Not his best because it contained too many situations, but the series is a good one.
Walt Williams is a senior citizens who decides that he wants to be a police officer in the first book of the series. He gets hired and each of the books is about him and his cast of characters solving crimes. The series is an easy read and quite enjoyable, except maybe for this last one.
