The Grey Wolf and her latest The Black Wolf by Louise Penny.  Love her books and ongoing characters.

 

The Loneliness of Sonia and Sonny which was shortlisted for the 2025 Booker Prize.  Loving this book.

Well, I am most hooked on David Baldacci books. Lots of what you describe. They don't start out slow either.

It's on my Kindle and downloaded!  Going on vacation next week and will be reading .

I just finished Gone Tonight, by Sarah Pekkanen.  It revolves around a mysterious mother and daughter and has some real twists. . . dementia, sexual harassment, murder. . .I'm old and like my characters 100% good.  This novel left me questioning. . .
